This is, to me, a very frightening development. why aren't canada and the US leading the world on this issue... i thought democracy was on the march around the world? isn't Paul Martin addressing the democratic deficit? he's been such a good deficit slayer in the past.

RIAA sues dead woman according to this VNUnet article sourcing AP. Frankly, it is just another reason why I hate the RIAA and its co-conspirators. Any other corporations who can't keep up with technology driven by the market, change or go out of business. these feeble attempts to hold on to the past is another reason why the corporate oligarchy is losing its customer support base. don't forget - people still buy CDs, sales are down because the 1990s were a technology-switch. MP3 exposure has led to millions of dollars in sales for newer and emerging artists that eventually sign to these massive labels represented by the RIAA.

very interesting article by Aluf Benn at Ha'aretz, an Israeli daily. Also interesting this week is UofT's "Israeli Apartheid Week." I fully support free speech, but could this be considered harassment? how would it sound if it was a sexualized statement? most policies consider nurturing or creating a sexualized and/or hostile environment is sexual harrassment? Is racial-cultural-national harassment against the rules of society too? Does Israeli Apartheid Week indicate that Canada, for instance, has no instances of oppression that are systemic? Ever heard of natives?
