a few links and things that I read while procrastinating today... I hope it's not too early to be optimistic, but things have been looking good for the past couple weeks. now we need some real steps, like prisoner releases and multi-party talks on disengagement. I'm encouraged... At the same time, there are reports suggesting that Israel is taking advantage of this easing of int'l pressure to exploit palestinian land owners. Also, in the wake of the 60th anniversary of the liberation, by the Red Army, of Auschwitz; this! finally, i found some strange thing that says you can get lots of free stuff (eg. ipods, macminis, notebook computers, etc) through this strange and awful advertising thing that is similar to columbia house. Click here to discover what it's all about. If you do want to go to the "partner sites" please add "/default.aspx?r=202112" after the ".com" so that it will hopefully get us all free stuff. apparently Wired magazine and Tech TV have featured this. saturday out... gotta get groceries today. it's cold by the way. i hate it.

This update from Americans for Peace Now is extremely informative. IN fact, it has information about the breadth of anti-disengagement elements in Israel - the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations was part of the commissioning of a report that is meant to undermine disengagement. Further, the conference clearly needs to consult its own membership, as Rabbi Eric Yoffie, President of the Union for Reform Judaism, has expressed skepticism. From the update: A revisionist study of Palestinian demographics, meant to undermine arguments for the disengagement plan, was rolled out for several groups last week, including the Heritage Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute, and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The study claims that there are far fewer Palestinians in the occupied territories than generally assumed. In sharp contrast to population studies conducted in Israel by Professors Arnon Sofer and Sergio della Pergola, the document asserts that Jews continue to maintain a solid 60% majority between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea that it from me.

i think people are too obsessed with blogging. that just means that i'll continue my policy of moderately regular postings. however, as you should know, I believe that due to the fact that I think abstractly as opposed to linguistically, my thoughts in images will hopefully be updated with a similar frequency that my text blog has seen in the past six months. check out the gallery section for more new pictures and those old ones will return soon enough. i guess i'll need to think about a new hosting situation since I bet i'll run out of diskspace soon enough. ha!
